Building EasyReply: How We Used Laravel to Unify Customer Support
A technical deep-dive into how EasyReply leveraged Laravel, Livewire 3, and Horizon queues to build an enterprise shared inbox processing millions of emails each week.
Scaling a Shared Support Inbox with Laravel
When building EasyReply—a high-volume shared support platform for SaaS companies—we needed an architecture capable of processing incoming email webhooks, coordinating agent responses in real time, and maintaining sub-second UI responsiveness.
The Technical Stack
- Laravel 13 & Octane: Powering our webhook ingestion endpoints, processing over 4,000 inbound emails per minute with microsecond overhead.
- Livewire 3 & Alpine.js: Delivering a reactive inbox interface that updates conversation threads in real time without heavy Single Page Application complexity.
- Laravel Horizon & Redis: Managing prioritized queue workers for email parsing, sentiment tagging, and customer notifications.
- PostgreSQL Full-Text Search: Indexing millions of customer conversation histories with Gin indexing for instant search results.
Lessons Learned
By relying heavily on first-party Laravel ecosystem tools, our four-person engineering team built a platform that competes directly with legacy enterprise support software. Laravel's expressive syntax and robust queueing system saved us months of infrastructure engineering.
